2 BYOB clubs in Gurgaon booked for playing loud DJ music past 10pm; equipment seized

GURGAON: Two BYOB (Bring your own booze) lounge clubs in the city faced police action after they were found playing DJ music at high volume late into the night without permission, disturbing nearby residents.The development followed a night patrol on April 18 led by ACP (Badshahpur) Yashwant Yadav, who received inputs about loud music being played beyond permissible hours. Police teams reached multiple locations and found violations at two clubs in Sectors 61 and 58.At Don Jon BYOB & Lounge Club in Sector 61, the police found DJ music being played after 10 pm without any licence. The club operator, Rajat Gupta, a resident of Shalimar Bagh in Delhi, failed to produce valid permission for the loud music.In a similar action at Where Else BYOB & Lounge Club in Sector 58, DJ music was being played at high volume late at night. The operator, Anuj Mehndiratta, a resident of South City-2 in Gurgaon, could not provide any licence or approval.Police seized three music systems and four speakers from the two locations. Cases have been initiated against both operators under relevant provisions of the Environment Protection Act and Section 152 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNSS).Officials said the matter will be forwarded to the SDM office for further proceedings. Police also urged establishments to comply with noise pollution norms, warning of strict action against violations.
