Title cards have always been a special celebration moment for fans of star actors. Over the years, these title cards have evolved from simple text designs into stylish animated visuals that create excitement inside theatres. In recent times, the title card animation created especially for Suriya in ‘Karuppu’ generated a great buzz among movie buffs. The impressive presentation was welcomed in the theaters with rounds of applause, and even fans called it one of the finest title cards for Suriya ever created. Following the overwhelming response, the film’s team officially released the title card online, where it quickly went viral across social media platforms.

Designer Ambani opens up about Suriya’s reaction

The animated title card for ‘Karuppu’ was designed by Chennai-based creator Ambani, who has also worked on title cards for films like ‘Retro’ and The Greatest of All Time. Speaking about the response in a chat with Cinema Vikatan, he shared, “I designed Suriya sir’s title card for ‘Karuppu’. The reception has been unbelievable, and even the film team officially released it after seeing the response from fans.” He further added that many people told him this could become Suriya’s signature title card style for future films as well. “Just hearing that itself makes me very happy,” he shared. Ambani also revealed that Suriya personally liked the design, which made the moment even more special for him.

RJ Balaji’s idea became the highlight of ‘Karuppu’

Ambani explained that the idea behind the ‘Karuppu’ title card was to create something even bigger and more impactful than what he had done earlier in ‘Retro’. He said the concept was discussed with director RJ Balaji, who immediately loved the idea. “RJ Balaji sir liked the concept instantly, and that’s how we designed the title card people are celebrating now,” he said. He also revealed that the “The One” title style used earlier was RJ Balaji’s suggestion for ‘Karuppu’. According to Ambani, title cards are no longer just introductions for stars but have become an emotional celebration for fans inside theatres.

Animation title cards become a trend

Ambani also shared how his animated title card journey began in Tamil cinema. He first experimented with the idea during ‘Thunivu’ using iconic moments from Ajith Kumar’s career. Later, his work for Vijay’s title card in ‘GOAT’ earned him massive recognition among fans and filmmakers. “After ‘GOAT’ became a hit, many people started asking for animated title cards for other films too,” he revealed. Ambani added that he always believed title cards should feel visually exciting instead of being plain text on screen. Today, his designs have become a trend in Tamil cinema, turning star introductions into unforgettable theatre celebration moments for fans.
