Chadayamangalam election results 2026: INC’s M.M. Naseer defeats CPI’s J. Chinchurani by 7,486 votes

Chadayamangalam Assembly constituency is a general seat in Kollam district, Kerala, encompassing Chadayamangalam, Chithara, Elamad, Ittiva, Kadakkal, Nilamel, Velinalloor panchayats and parts of Alayamon, with rubber plantations and rural agrarian communities shaping its politics.In Kerala’s Chadayamangalam, INC’s M.M. Naseer emerged as the winner, defeating CPI’s J. Chinchurani by 7,486 votes. M.M. Naseer received 68,281 votes, while J. Chinchurani secured 60,795 votes. The current MLA is J Chinchu Rani from CPI, elected in 2021 with 67,252 votes (45.69per cent), defeating INC’s M.M. Naseer (53,574 votes, 36.40per cent) by 13,678 votes, while BJP’s Vishnu Pattathanam got 22,238 votes (15.11per cent) amid 71.75per cent turnout.For the 2026 elections, the participating candidates are J Chinchu Rani (CPI), M M Naseer (INC), RS Arun Raj (BJP) and Sharafath Mallam (SDPI).Key issues include Kallada River flooding damaging crops; poor rural road connectivity hindering farm exports; youth unemployment despite Gulf remittances; erratic water supply and sanitation gaps; overburdened PHCs; illegal quarrying polluting rivers; monsoon power outages; rising land prices squeezing small farmers; traffic near markets; and inadequate public transport challenging this LDF stronghold’s rural economy.
