The highly anticipated action drama movie ‘Karuppu’, starring Suriya, met with unexpected problems right from its opening day when many of the morning shows were unexpectedly cancelled in Tamil Nadu. Permission had been given to screen the movie during special morning shows at 9 AM, and the fans looked forward to celebrating the very first show of the day. However, all bookings had to be cancelled just before the movie was to be screened because of production-related problems. Producer S.R. Prabhu confirmed that the shows had to be cancelled because of financial reasons.
