Eurovision is perhaps one of the biggest musical festivals of all time. The annual competition brings together a lot of nations under one roof to perform for the final prize and the winner’s crown. Coming Tuesday, the competition is all set to open in Vienna, and fans cannot seem to handle the wait to see their favourites up on the global stage. A total of 35 countries are competing for the title of the winner of Eurovision 2026. With Austria winning the title last year, they also won the right to become the host country for this year’s competition.This year, a lot of veterans and new comers combined are joining the contest. Countries who dropped out from the Eurovision 2026 race
The roster this year is much smaller than in the previous contests. This is due to the fact that a total of 5 countries are boycotting the event this year. The move comes after calls to exclude Israel and its entry from the competition were made to the Eurovision Broadcasting Union. However, the EBU went forward with the decision to have Israel participate in this year’s music competition. Following this, Spain, Iceland, Ireland, the Netherlands, and Slovenia all, one by one withdrew their entry from this year’s competition.
When and where will Eurovision 2026 happen
Eurovision 2026 is all set and ready to start on May 12, when the first set of semi-finals will begin for the contestants. The second semi-finals will happen on May 14. The grand finale is then scheduled to take place on May 16. The competition is going to be held at the Wiener Stadthalle in Vienna, Austria.
