Pithoragarh: A 28-year-old man was arrested for allegedly killing his father after an argument in Puran village, around 12 km from Pithoragarh town, police said on Sunday.The deceased, Bisan Ram, 56, a mason, lived in Pithoragarh town and had gone to the village on Friday to meet his son, Gaurav Kumar, and stayed the night there.Pithoragarh SHO Lalit Mohan Joshi said, “At night, Bisan got into a verbal altercation with Gaurav, during which the accused allegedly attacked him with a hammer and struck him on the head. The victim remained inside the house without medical assistance.”On Saturday morning, Bisan’s nephew Suresh found him lying in a pool of blood and informed police. He was taken to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. Police said he did not receive timely treatment.A case has been registered at Pithoragarh police station under section 105 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) of the BNS.
