CBI catches Delhi head constable taking ₹20,000 bribe

New Delhi: A head constable was caught red-handed by CBI while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000.CBI conducted a raid at Shakarpur police station on Monday. According to preliminary reports, the bribe was linked to a molestation case, in which the accused was allegedly asked to pay Rs 50,000 in exchange for favourable handling of the matter. However, the amount was reportedly negotiated down to Rs 20,000, prompting CBI officials to lay a trap and catch the constable in the act.In connection with the same case, a female sub-inspector, believed to be the investigating officer, was also summoned to the police station for questioning. She was interrogated for several hours as part of the ongoing investigation.In a separate case, CBI has also arrested a manager and an investigator of an insurance company in connection with a bribery case on Tuesday. It was alleged that the accused demanded an undue advantage of Rs 3 lakh from the complainant for reactivating the cashless medical facility for a private Hospital in Manesar. The complainant had already given Rs 1 lakh in this. The amount was later negotiated to a total of Rs 2.6 lakh.
