As Tollywood unites today to march through Tollygunge demanding a thorough and impartial probe into the death of Rahul Arunoday Banerjee, several questions remain unanswered about the fatal mishap that happened nearly a week ago. “The investigation appears to have made very little progress, leaving industry stakeholders with no choice but to call for accountability and details about the mishap itself – from the production house and the investigating agencies,” an industry source told us.
The source also informed us that Sweta Mishra, Rahul’s co-actor who was on Talsari beach with him at the time of the mishap, has moved out of Kolkata. “Reportedly, her mental state isn’t good and so, she has moved back to her ancestral home outside the city. But what’s absolutely strange is that till now, Sweta’s official statement hasn’t been recorded. And she’s a prime witness!” Questioning the reason behind Rahul’s family not filing an FIR till now, the source added, “Rahul’s elder brother, who stays in Ireland, is in town now and is taking their mother back with him. This means Priyanka will have to attend the hearings if a case is filed. On the other hand, the last episode of Bhole Baba Par Karega was telecast this Thursday.” The serial has ended, the family hasn’t filed an FIR against the production house yet, and the investigation is proceeding at an abysmally slow pace.
