Rob Reiner’s death case
Rob and his wife, Michele, were found stabbed to death at their Brentwood home on December 14. According to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner, both died from “multiple sharp force injuries.” Police arrested their son, Nick Reiner, several miles (kilometers) away from the scene of the crime later that night. He now faces two counts of first-degree murder over the double killing that sent shockwaves through Hollywood days before Christmas.
Meg Ryan pays tribute
Following Reiner’s death, Meg took to her social media handle to pen a touching tribute. Sharing a photo from the sets, she wrote, “Oh how we will miss this man… Thank you, Rob and Michelle, for the way you believe in true love, in fairy tales, and in laughter. Thank you for your faith in the best in people, and for your profound love of our country. I have to believe that their story will not end with this impossible tragedy, that some good may come, some awareness raised… I don’t know, but my guess is that they would want that to be hopeful and humane, to be something that brings us all to a greater understanding of one another and to some peace.“
Nick Reiner pleads not guilty
As per the latest reports, the 32-year-old pleaded ‘not guilty’ during a court appearance at Los Angeles Superior Court on February 23. Nick, who remains in jail and has not been granted bail, was ordered to return to court on April 29. If convicted as charged, Reiner could face life in prison without parole, or the death penalty, although California does not routinely carry out capital punishment.
