CHENNAI: Former Chief Minister O Panneerselvam’s son P Ravindhranath Kumar on Friday submitted applications seeking tickets for himself and his father to contest from the Andipatti and Bodinayakanur constituencies on behalf of the DMK in the upcoming Assembly election.OPS joined the DMK on Feb 27 along with his son Ravindhranath Kumar and their supporters.Ravindhranath, former Theni MP, submitted applications expressing his willingness to contest from both the Bodinayakanur and Andipatti constituencies. An application was also submitted on behalf of his father, OPS, seeking the party ticket for the Bodinayakanur constituency.
“I have also submitted applications on my behalf, proposing the candidature of Chief Minister M K Stalin and deputy CM Udhayanidhi Stalin for three constituencies in Theni district – Andipatti, Cumbum and Bodinayakanur,” he said. Similarly, applications were submitted on behalf of OPS to Stalin and Udhayanidhi Stalin for the same three constituencies.It may be recalled that Panneerselvam had earlier expressed his willingness to contest on the DMK’s ‘Rising Sun’ symbol after joining the party.
