Dhanbad/Hazaribag: Police personnel and senior govt officials came out on the streets in large numbers in Dhanbad and Hazaribag on Saturday to celebrate Sarhul.In Dhanbad, SSP Prabhat Kumar took part in the traditions of the festival at the Police Centre in police lines and prayed for peace and prosperity. Stating that Sarhul strengthens the bond between the people and nature, Kumar urged the people to protect the environment by conserving trees and planting more saplings.Police personnel danced to the beats of drums and folk songs as joy and colours filled the air.In Hazaribag, deputy commissioner Shashi Prakash Singh and SP Anjani Anjan attended Sarhul celebration organised at the police lines dressed in traditional tribal attire. Singh urged residents to remain committed to the protection and promotion of nature.
