UPTET application 2026: The Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) 2026 notification has been officially released on March 20, 2026. The commission has also introduced the One Time Registration (OTR) scheme this time. The registration process will commence tomorrow, i.e., on March 27, 2026, and will continue until April 26, 2026. The candidates interested in writing the examination can apply through the official website, upessc.up.gov.in. The examination is scheduled to be conducted on July 2, 3, and 4, 2026.It has also been stated that the candidates will not be able to apply for the UPTET examination without going through the OTR process. In the OTR process, the candidates have to fill in their details and then generate the OTR ID.
UPTET 2026 : Eligibility criteria
UPTET is a compulsory qualification for candidates who are seeking the posts of teachers in government and aided schools of Uttar Pradesh, and the criteria differ slightly for each level of the exam. For the Primary Level, which includes classes from 1 to 5, the candidates must have passed senior secondary or its equivalent with at least 50% marks and must hold a Diploma in Elementary Education of at least two years’ duration or its equivalent qualification. For the Upper Primary Level, which includes classes from 6 to 8, the candidates must have a graduation degree with at least 50% marks, and must hold a Diploma in Elementary Education of at least two years duration or a B.Ed degree.

- Upload documents: Submit scanned copies of your photograph, signature, and required documents as per specifications.
- Generate OTR ID: Verify the details and complete the registration to receive your unique OTR ID.
- Fill UPTET application form: Log in using the OTR ID and enter your educational qualifications, exam level (Primary/Upper Primary), and other required details.
- Pay application fees: Proceed to pay the application fee through the available online payment modes.
- Submit and print: Review all details carefully, submit the form, and download/print a copy of the confirmation page for future reference.
